Searching for gravitational waves in interferometers

Gravitational wave data analysis of interferometer data is a very demanding exercise owing to the wide-band nature of the antenna and to its omni-directionality. In my talk I will discuss algorithms that are planned to used in the analysis of GEO600 and LIGO data. These include directed and wide-area search algorithms to observe continuous waves, time-frequency analysis for unmodelled and unknown sources and efficient, accurate and fast algorithms to search for inspiral waves from coalescing compact binaries.
