Masa-Katsu Fujimoto, and the TAMA collaboration

The TAMA300 interferometer started the first-stage operation in this summer, after about 4 years period of the construction and the developments. Current status of the interferometer will be overviewed in this talk as an introduction to the TAMA session scheduled on the next day.
