Geophysical observations using long-baseline interferometers

Akito ARAYA

In the TAMA experiment, we have developed a novel method to determine accurate absolute length of the cavity, and observed ground strain changes with this method. Although the observed strain change was artificial one, this experiment showed possibilities of application of long-baseline gravitational wave detectors to geophysical strain observations.  In this talk, after the description of the TAMA experiment, several possibilities on the geophysical observations will be presented.
